You will first be offered a 30 minute consultation with me where you can discuss the issues that you are experiencing in your life and I will ask you various questions to establish how you have got to this place in your life and how you want life to be and to feel like in the future.
All things discussed are strictly confidential between ourselves and your notes are kept safely stored between sessions.
On completion of this consultation we will arrange an appointment for your first therapy session to start and I will draw up a formulation on how to help you to reach your goals.
For a stop smoking session with me the therapy is a one, 2 hour session that allows you to leave as a non smoker. No initial consultation is required and all areas and issues are explored and worked through in this appointment to allow you to leave easily as a non smoker.
Will will agree on a plan of the therapy that you need to help you to achieve your goals. I use a combination of Hypnotherapy, which accesses the subconscious , automatic part of your mind, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to reprogram the mind, and counselling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you make your changes into the future.
Therapy sessions occur on a weekly basis where possible for 1 hour. By attending weekly you can make beneficial changes as the mind is firmly focused on what you are trying to achieve and working regularly towards those changes helps you to reach your goals quickly.
At each appointment we will discuss the changes you are experiencing or any difficulties in your life and I will adjust therapy accordingly, using many of the different therapy modes to ensure we are working methodically and on the issues that are presenting themselves.
This ensures that therapy is constantly changing and following the right path that works for you. Everybody is different and I will work in a way that is best for you.
You will sometimes be given ‘Growth’ work to be undertaken outside of therapy to help you to change and grow towards your goals.
These will be challenging your thinking and your reactions to things in your life. I will be monitoring your progress and you will be aware of how far you have come and what is left for you to achieve and we will continue therapy until you have achieved all that you have set out to achieve.
I am a member of the Association of Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and part of the code of ethics that I adhere to is to ensure I help you to make the changes you want in your life in the quickest possible way.
As I work with you on a session to session basis I will not be holding you in therapy for longer than needed and you will be in control and aware of when your issues have been resolved and the decision to end therapy will be something that we discuss and agree together.
Often we would have a final session that sums up all the changes to how you think and feel and gives you an awareness of how far you have come and what you have achieved.
