Anxiety, commonly known of as ‘stress’, is predominately fear. Fear of certain situations you are faced with, of the unknown, or how you view the future to become.
It causes physical changes in the body. These changes can affect your stomach causing digestion problems, diarrhoea, constipation and ulcers. Anxiety also effects concentration, sleep, eating and day to day functioning, and can lead to insomnia, migraines, depression, IBS, palpitations amongst other things.
Anxiety is a conflict of interest within your mind, where consciously you want to do something but your subconscious ‘believes’ that you should not or could not do it.
Anxiety can be brought about by specific issues, work pressure, fear of making the wrong decision, fear of letting someone down, difficult colleagues, public speaking, excessively high expectation of yourself, fear of illness or by non specific issues, just a feeling of impending pressure that everything will ‘fall apart’.
Whatever your reason, hypnotherapy can help to promote new reactions to situations that previously caused you to feel anxiety. Therefore making you feel more relaxed and confident when faced with these previously stressful situations.
